Under-18 Report | Watford 3-1 Millwall

Watford Under-18s made it three wins in the last four after coming from behind to beat Millwall 3-1 at London Colney on Saturday.

The Hornets went into the clash sitting third in the Under-18 Professional Development League South, four points behind the Lions in second.

However, a double from Reece Miller and a spectacular Harry Forster free-kick secured the three points after the visitors took an early lead.

Millwall started the stronger of the two sides in the opening stages and took the lead in the sixth minute.

Midway through the first-half the scores were level. Ryan Cassidy’s through ball sent Miller through on goal, and he beat the goalkeeper with a left-footed finish.

Watford continued to push forward early in the second-half and their efforts were rewarded just three minutes in when Miller doubled his tally for the afternoon. The forward latched onto Lewis Gordon’s left-wing cross and put the hosts in front.

The game was wrapped up with 15 minutes to play when wide-man Forster converted a lovely 20-yard free-kick to cap off an impressive performance from the young Hornets.

The result means Watford remain third, just one point behind Millwall. The Hornets will host Bristol City this coming Saturday (November 18) as they look to continue their impressive run of form.
