A round-up of Watford players in action for their loan clubs over the weekend

Loan Lads: The Flying Dutchman

Steven Berghuis’ Feyenoord maintained their unbeaten start to the campaign with a 1-0 win over PSV Eindhoven at the Philips Stadion.

The Dutch winger played 63 minutes of the game that saw them claim their sixth win from six Eredivisie games, moving five points clear at the top of the table.

It completed a perfect week of action for Feyenoord, who also beat Manchester United 1-0 earlier in the week in the Europa League group stage.

Blackburn Rovers claimed their first league victory of the season, with Tommie Hoban playing the full 90 minutes as they came from behind to beat Rotherham 4-2. The defender returns to action on Tuesday when Rovers face Leeds United in the EFL Cup.

In League 1, Alex Jakubiak was an unused substitute once more as Fleetwood lost 2-1 at Rochdale, which resulted in them dropping out of a play-off spot.

There was much more to shout about for Dennon Lewis as he helped his Woking side win 2-0 at home to Wrexham. The youngster played an instrumental part in the Cards’ second goal, providing the cross for Chike Kandi to wrap up the three points and move them out of the National League relegation zone.

In Spain, Mario Suárez and Valencia were on the wrong end of a 2-1 scoreline at Athletico Bilbao, with the midfielder featuring for 66 minutes, whilst a foot injury ruled Obbi Oularé out of Belgian outfit Zulte Waregem’s 2-1 victory against Kortrijk.

After two league wins in a row, Udinese suffered a 2-1 home loss to Chievo on Sunday afternoon. Watford loanee Adalberto Peñaranda was an unused substitute, as the Italian outfit were beaten at home for the first time this season in Serie A.
