GT Matchday: Statue Unveiled

A commemorative statue of Graham Taylor OBE was unveiled today in a special ceremony outside Vicarage Road.

The statue, that depicts Graham sitting on a bench, smiling warmly, has taken a year to produce by sculptor Douglas Jennings MRBS.

A former West Herts College student, Jennings had previously worked on statues of The Queen, Barack Obama and Margaret Thatcher, and he was chosen by the family of the late, great man to produce a faithful likeness of Watford’s greatest ever manager.

CEO & Chairman Scott Duxbury, Hornets legend Luther Blissett, and Graham's daughter Joanne gave speeches at the unveiling, attended by scores of Watford supporters still keen to pay their respects to Graham just over a year-and-a-half since his passing.

Keep an eye out on watfordfc.com for a cinematic recap of the ceremony - and, if you weren't there today, why not pop down tomorrow to see the statue in-person?
