First Team 02/07/2017

Femenía | “I Come Here To Give Everything”

Kiko Femenía says he’ll be giving nothing short of his best every time he pulls on his new Watford shirt.

The Spanish right-back was giving his first interview to the watfordfc.com cameras after signing a four-year contract with the Hornets.

“I’m extremely happy to be here in this great club. I hope the team has a very good season and hopefully I can do the same,” said the 26-year-old.

“I came here first of all because it’s a new, unique experience. It’s a chance that not every player has, to play in England.

“I come here to give everything I have and to do my best.”

Having spent the past two years at Alavés, Femenía has come up against some of the world’s finest and played in last month’s Copa del Rey final against Barcelona.

The former Spain youth international now hopes to use that experience to his and the club’s advantage during the forthcoming Premier League campaign.

“I’m privileged enough to have played against the best teams in the world in Barcelona and Real Madrid,” he said.

“When you play against them you learn a lot. It’s completely different here but I want to adapt myself and use my experience from there in this league.

“My ambition is to play as many minutes as possible in the team, to help the team finish as high as possible and to have a great season.”
