LEAD YOUTH DEVELOPMENT PHASE COACH (U12-U14)

Location: The Harefield Academy, UCL Training Ground and Vicarage Road
Position: Full-time role
Salary: Depending on experience
Application deadline: 12noon on August 3, 2017
Interview: To be held on August 10, 2017. If successful a second interview, which will be practically-based, will be arranged on a date TBC

Role Description

An exciting opportunity has become available at Watford Football Club Academy, where we are currently looking to recruit a Lead Youth Development Phase Coach U12 to U14.

The position is a key role within the department, responsible for managing, coaching and overseeing the U12, U13 and U14 age groups. The successful candidate will enjoy working as part of a team, be enthusiastic and hard-working, and be flexible to the requirements of the position.

Essential Requirements

· UEFA A Licence qualification
· An FA Youth Award
· FA Modules 1, 2 and 3
· Be committed to a CPD programme and make every effort to enhance personal skills and qualifications to meet Academy needs
· Proven track record of developing elite players.
· An appreciation of the need for flexible working hours and recognise the minimum hours per week required to fulfill the above detailed responsibilities
· A clear understanding and appreciation of the standards of behaviour and codes of conduct demanded within the Academy
· Safeguarding Children Workshop
· Basic First Aid for Sport Qualification or an equivalent or higher qualification
· This role will have regular contact with children and it is therefore required by law to have a DBS Enhanced Criminal Record Check with children’s barred list check

· UEFA Pro Licence
· FA Advanced Youth Award with the Youth Development Phase age-specific specialist element

Job Description

We have a couple of opportunities for qualified and licensed coaches to join our Premier League Academy on a casual basis to coach and develop our Foundation Phase & Youth Development Phase players (U9-U16).

Roles will include delivery of 3x training sessions and 1x match per week and will involve events both at Harefield Academy and UCL Sports Ground as well as away fixtures.

Via ‘The Watford Way’ you will be required to plan, deliver and review outstanding coaching sessions in order to maximise individual player development in line with the club's philosophy. You will also be required to write and deliver feedback on a six-week basis.

The successful candidate will demonstrate enthusiasm, personality and a passion for producing the players of the future. An interest in additional opportunities at Watford Football Club and adhoc work across phases would be advantageous.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for enthusiastic and educated coaches who are qualified to the relevant level and will have experience working with elite players. The successful candidate will also display outstanding parent-liaison and communication skills.

You will be required to plan, deliver and review outstanding age-specific coaching sessions to our youngest players, which will install a passion for the game, develop a love for Watford Football Club and maximise their development in preparation for the Foundation Phase.

You will also be required to write and deliver two detailed feedback reviews per season (bi-annually).

The successful candidate will demonstrate enthusiasm, personality and energy as required when working with the youngest of players as they begin their journey. An interest in additional opportunities at Watford Football Club and adhoc work from U9-U16 would be advantageous.
