Watford secured the signing of Andre Gray from Burnley in August 2017 for a then club record fee.

After making his professional debut for Shrewsbury Town in 2009, the Wolverhampton-born forward came through non-league football to arrive at the Premier League, netting prolifically for the likes of Hinckley United and Luton Town before switching to Brentford in 2014.

In 52 appearances for the Bees, Gray scored 20 goals, earning a £9m move to Burnley in 2015 and immediately firing his team to promotion with 23 goals in 41 outings.

Nine goals in 26 top-flight starts during 2016/17 proved Gray was capable in the top flight too and the Golden Boys then snapped him up in the summer of 2017. In his first season at Vicarage Road the No.18 scored five goals.

During 2018/19 the pacey forward improved upon this tally, netting nine times. These included crucial winning strikes at home against Everton, Leicester City and Crystal Palace, as Watford achieved their highest league finish since the 1980s and reached their second ever FA Cup final.

The following campaign Gray netted twice as the Hornets were relegated from the top flight, before scoring five times in 14 starts during an immediate bounce-back in 2020/21.

Gray made his debut for Jamaica in March 2021, and scored his first goal for the Reggae Boyz in June against Serbia.

Watford's a great club, with a big future. I've got a lot to learn, and I'm looking forward to the challenge.
