AFTER leaving Manchester United in May of 2013, Reece Brown joined the Hornets on a free transfer, penning a two-year deal with the Golden Boys.

A half-time introduction away at Reading in mid-August was sandwiched by Capital One Cup starts against Bristol Rovers and Bournemouth, but the remainder of the young defender's action in 2013/14 came during a successful loan spell at Carlisle United.

Switching to the League 1 side in March 2014, Brown - younger brother of United's former defensive ace Wes - made a good impression at Brunton Park despite the Cumbrians' eventual relegation, playing 12 times between then and the season's end.

Schooled at Manchester United from the age of nine, loan spells with Bradford, Doncaster, Oldham, Coventry and Ipswich Town comprised Brown's first-team experience before his move to Vicarage Road was sealed.
