ABOUT THE FAMILY FOOTBALL FESTIVAL

The day is all part of the The Football League's Family Football Festival, which aims to encourage families to enjoy time together at an exciting Football League game. Running from October to December, the festival sees family activities taking place across participating Football League clubs this autumn.

Siobhan Freeguard, founder of Netmums is an ambassador for the Family Football Festival, and commented: "Netmums are delighted to be involved with The Family Football Festival - it's an exciting opportunity for families across the country to enjoy a fun day out together at their local League club. It's a great chance for mums to get the family together and enjoy the atmosphere of a League match first hand this autumn."

WHAT SPECIAL ACTIVITY WILL BE TAKING PLACE?

The club has invited face-painters and balloonists to the ground for the day, so keep an eye out for them.

Our Community Trust will have a number of activities taking place as well around the ground.

We're also asking all our younger supporters to come along in halloween fancy dress, the best of the bunch will then be picked out and selected children will win prizes.

OUR MASCOT

Our mascot is called Harry the Hornet - see the picture below!  He is great with kids and will be putting on a special effort for this match to entertain all the families that come along before the game and at half time.

A BIT ABOUT FOOTBALL

Football matches last for 90 minutes and are played in two halves of 45 minutes each.  At the end of the first half there is a 'half-time' break of 15 minutes that will allow you time to go and get a drink or a bite to eat from our refreshment kiosks.

Each team is comprised of 11 players (including 1 goalkeeper) and each team is allowed to make three substitutions.

The winner of the match will have three points added to their season total.  If the match ends in a draw then each team will get one point each.
