Dear Supporter,
I would like to start this letter by thanking you for the support you have given the Club and the team this year. Since writing to you at this time last year we have certainly seen a lot of change at the Club both on and off the pitch. Whilst not all the changes could have been foreseen a year ago, we always knew that the Club would be going through a transitional period as we sought to balance financial sustainability at the same time as delivering a competitive team on the pitch.
I'm very pleased to say that whilst there is still a challenge ahead, we have now broken the back of the inherited position and can spend our time and energy looking firmly forward now. We are all ambitious for the Club, but that ambition is built on strong foundations to ensure we do not return to the recent financial issues.
Returning to that word transition, I think it has been very pleasing to see some excellent performances by the team this year. It is true testament to Malky and all his backroom staff, that despite the much needed sale of key players, he has got on with the job at hand and moulded a squad of players full of desire and who have given their all in a yellow shirt.
I hope you have enjoyed being a season ticket holder this year. We have had a tricky spell on the pitch of late but I have to say the atmosphere created by you for Tuesday night's game with Ipswich was superb and without doubt spurred the team on to get that much needed win. Let's all hope that some of the excellent football witnessed during the season is reproduced over the final group of matches to give you plenty more to shout about!
As a Board we reacted to the global economic situation a year ago when setting the pricing structure for this season. Despite the financial difficulty the Club was in, it was very much the right decision. Having built up a strong core support over a number of years, we wanted to do all we could to maintain that base and were delighted that over 10,000 of you committed to the Club for another year. This is fantastic support and far outweighs the majority of clubs in our division, when you compare their season ticket support to the population of the town.

Prices for 2010/11 are going to rise. An increase was always planned after last year's reduction and whilst that is not always the easiest news to share, I hope all supporters will understand the Club's position as we look to align delivery on the pitch with sustainability overall. Despite government VAT increases meaning the Club see less revenue out of each season ticket sold compared to last year, we are very pleased to say that our pricing structure is still some way cheaper than two seasons ago and still represents huge savings on match day ticket prices, regardless of any promotions we may run during the season.
The Early Bird campaign will run until May 14th 2010 for postal applications and phone bookings. If you wish to pay over six months with our Direct Debit scheme, then the deadline is April 30th and new for this year is a financial incentive to renew online if also done by April 30th. For example an Adult in the Rookery is £340 online compared to £355 if renewing by post or phone. Under 16's in the Family Area are just £45 which works out at less than £2 per match and Under 16's in the Rookery or Lower Rous are £90, which again represents excellent value for money at under £4 per game. For full details click here to download a brochure.
If we can keep our season ticket base at around the 10,000 level, that will enable us to continue forward on the journey of being a sustainable business whilst ensuring we are competitive on the field. On that point I would urge you to sign up and would ask for you to share the information brochure with friends and neighbours to help encourage the continued growth in our supporter base.
Thanks once again for your committed support this season. There is plenty more football to be played this season, so continue to get behind the team and we all look forward to welcoming you again for the 2010/11 season.
Yours sincerely
Julian Winter
