THE Chairman, Chief Executive and Directors of Watford Football Club undertake to ensure that all activities taking place at the Vicarage Road Stadium are conducted in such a way that the safety of everybody attending an event at the stadium is assured, in so far as is reasonably practicable

The club's primary responsibility through the stadium match day Safety Officer, the Operations Director, and team of safety stewards will be to ensure the reasonable safety of those attending an event at the stadium. The safety operation also involves the close co-operation of the emergency services (i.e. Police, Fire & Medical teams)

The club has designated the Rookery Stand as an area for home supporters only. It is the policy of the club that any visiting supporter found in this stand will be ejected from the stadium.

The club has designated the North East Side of the Vicarage Road Stand as an area only for the visiting club's supporters to be seated.

All other areas of the stadium, namely the Rous Stand, The East Stand and the North West side of the Vicarage Road Stand are non-designated areas for supporters.

It is the policy of the club through its ticket sales strategy that seats are sold on availability to Watford supporters who are season ticket holders, those who have previously booked with the club,  or a limited number through our Community Trust scheme.

Whilst these areas in the main are for Watford supporters, if a visiting supporter is seated in one of these areas, for example with a relative who is a Watford fan, we ask for tolerance to be borne on all sides.

If an incident arises whereby tolerance is not borne on either side, and or a visiting supporter is openly celebrating causing disquiet, the club reserves the right under the ground regulations in force to take the appropriate action against either party involved.

Vicarage Road is now a 'Smoke Free' stadium along with all other Football League grounds after the introduction of the rule during the summer in 2007.

The views of supporters nationwide were a key element in The Football League's decision to introduce a 'Smoke Free' policy, which takes effect at all League grounds from today.

Almost 80 per cent of the fans who participated in The Football League Supporters' Survey 2006 advocated the introduction of some form of smoke free policy at matches, with half of all fans wanting an outright ban.
