JON Harley joined the Hornets in July 2008 with a wealth of experience, boasting an FA Cup winner's medal with Chelsea and stints at Fulham, Sheffield United and Burnley.

The versatile left-sided player came to Hertfordshire after impressing during a pre-season trial.

After leaving Chelsea where he started as a trainee, Harley signed for Fulham in August 2001 for £3.5million after a prior loan spell with Wimbledon.

Loan spells at Sheffield United and West Ham followed before he finally signed for the Blades permanently.

A year later he moved to Burnley and managed to establish himself as the club's first choice left-back, starting with a series of impressive performances where he became somewhat of a set piece specialist. Harley can also play on the left hand side of midfield.

Harley enjoyed regular first team football in his first season with the Hornets, gaining 43 appearances during the 2008/09 campaign.
