Marvin Sordell is another Watford youngster who has made a successful step up from the Academy ranks.
The young striker was offered his first professional contract with the Golden Boys and signed in April 2009.
The former Fulham youth player was immediately accepted into the first team appearing in two out of the Hornets first three league games of the 2009/10 season, against Sheffield United and Nottingham Forest in August 2009.
However, his shining moment in a Watford shirt to date was scoring his first goal for the Hornets against Leeds United in the Carling Cup second round in August 2009.
In January 2010 he joined Tranmere Rovers on loan, making six starts and scoring once.
Sordell came back to Vicarage Road full of confidence and played his part in ensuring the Golden Boys avoided relegation in 2009/10. He netted the fourth goal in Watford's 4-0 victory over Coventry City on the final day of the season.
