THE 2010-11 season is one striker Marvin Sordell is unlikely to ever forget.

Regardless of what the future holds for the England Under-20 international, to spring from a 2009-10 debutant to a scorer of 15 goals in 2010-11 was quite some feat for a young forward.

Sordell himself cites a loan spell at League 1 Tranmere Rovers as crucial to his development. He featured in eight games for the Wirral club, playing his part in helping Rovers preserve their divisional status as his first season as a professional came to a close.

After a brief Hornets' first-team debut at Bramall Lane in August 2009, he notched a maiden senior goal at Leeds United in the Carling Cup - however his next Watford strike came on 2009-10's final day at Coventry City.

An athletic strike partner for Danny Graham during much of 2010-11, Sordell now has 50-plus Watford appearances and 17 goals to his name.
