JORDAN Parkes signed his first professional contract for the club in February 2007 and regularly captains the reserves side at WD18.

The Hemel-born defender is another graduate from the prolific production line at Watford's Academy.

A naturally right footed player who is equally at home in either full back position he has captained both the Academy and the reserve team during 2006/07.

Parkes is comfortable on the ball and is happy to get forward and support the midfield with surging runs from the full back position.

Parkes also received his first call-up for England during that season and made his debut for the under 18s in the 4-1 victory over Holland at Yeovil.

The youngster made his debut for the first team against Accrington Stanley in the Carling Cup penalty shoot-out in 2006 and was called upon to take a deciding spot-kick in front of the Vicarage Road crowd.

The 2007/08 season saw Parkes appear for the Hornets 2 times before heading out on loan to Brentford and then Barnet, making 1 and 10 appearances respectively.

Parkes returned to Watford where the young defender played twice for the first team against West Ham in the League Cup and Ipswich in the Championship. In the summer of 2009, he led the U19s side out for their Copa Amsterdam tournament.
