Alex Campana made his debut against Notts County in the Carling Cup in August 2005 while still a first year scholar. Having been identified as 'one to watch' by the manager Aidy Boothroyd in a staff v scholars match in training, Alex got his chance and came on midway through the second-half against the Magpies. A skilful, stocky midfielder, Campana is already enjoying involvement at reserve team level and will look to build on a number of impressive performances during 2006/07.
Campana a signed a pro deal at Vicarage towards the end of the season, joining fellow youngsters Theo Robinson and Jordan Parkes in the first team squad. He captained the Academy side during the season and became a regular for the second string side. Looking to make a name for himself during his first year as a professional Campana started the 2007/08 term with a goal on his seasonal debut against Gillingham in the Carling Cup.
