AHEAD of the first of two away games this week, Watford boss Malky Mackay is calling upon his squad to keep doing the basics right after last weekend's morale boosting win over Plymouth Argyle at Vicarage Road.
The vital three points moved the 'Orns up the table, but they are not yet mathematically clear of safety, therefore the final four games still have plenty at stake for the Hornets, starting with Leicester City at the weekend.
It was a deserved win against the Pilgrims and the gaffer wants to see his young side continuing to do the basics well.
He said: "It was a massive win for us, obviously Plymouth are down there with us, so it was a big win for us."
"We did the basics very well, I think in a similar way to the West Brom game as we limited their chances.
"We had a few chances before we scored and I thought here we go its going to be another one of those days.
"But, the guys showed plenty of resilience and the under-strength squad showed immense character and thoroughly deserved their win."
The experienced Heidar Helguson netted the vital goal to seal the victory and the manager has praised the striker as well as two other older heads in the team.

"You look for men and leaders, I think Heidar's been good value" commented Malky.
"Heidar, Jay and John Eustace are older heads and they lead from the front."
But, with the Golden Boys three points clear of the drop, everyone in the camp knows there is more work to be done.
"Its one win and another three points" added the manager.
"We've got to apply ourselves as we have done over the last period and make games difficult for the opposition.
"In the main that's been the case, some things haven't fallen for us, but I look back at the Easter weekend and two mammoth performances the group put in, with only two points to show for it."
On Saturday Leicester City entertain the Golden Boys at The Walkers Stadium and with the home side occupying fifth spot in the Championship, they'll be doing everything they can to secure all three points to cement their place in the Play-Offs.

The two sides shared the points at Vicarage Road back in September thanks to a Helguson-inspired comeback after the Foxes took a two-goal lead before half time.
Speaking about the test, Malky said: "Leicester are flying high and Nigel has made some good acquisitions this year.
"He's got them in a position where they are promotion candidates. We're aware of the task ahead of us and we need to have the same mentality and be resilient.
"It's never been an easy place to play but there's a good atmosphere there with a good pitch and overall a nice stadium, so I think our guys will relish it.
"The players are a really good hard-working group who are honest.
"I think at this time of the year is a period to get your head down and work hard.
"Right now, it's all about our results and we have to win as many points as possible between now and the end of the season."
