AS Malky Mackay prepares his team for the visit of Swansea City tonight (Tuesday), the Watford manager emphasized the importance of moving on from Saturday's defeat on the road and focusing solely on the big game with the Swans.
"We've got to make sure we pick up as many points as we can between now and the end of the season and that starts tonight at home" stated the manager.
"We've got Swansea coming to our patch and we've got to make sure we get our points.
"You've got to get your head on and focus as it's the first of three home games now."
The Welsh side sit fourth in the Championship after thriving under the stewardship of former QPR boss Paulo Sousa.
"Swansea are a team who look as if they are difficult to beat" said Malky.
"Paulo's got them set up properly and he's done a good job there.
"Obviously it wasn't an easy task to take over from a very popular man in Roberto Martinez down at Swansea, but he seems to have managed to go in and the natives are enjoying him at the moment.
The Hornets boss continued: "They're quite an experienced group now, they've got quite a lot of games under their belt together now, Paulo's added bits and pieces but we will be facing a team who have in the majority played together for a couple of years now.
"As far as I'm aware Swansea were unlucky in their defeat on Saturday against Nottingham Forest.
"The onus is on us to take the game to them, we're at home and that's something I am sure they look at when a team is coming to play you, but we will see what happens on the night."
The Scotsman revealed that he shouldn't have any big injury problems going into the clash with the high-flying Swans.
"We have a couple of knocks but nothing I hope will cause any problems.

Malky:"The fans have been great all year" |
"Jay DeMerit, Adrian Mariappa and Danny Graham all took knocks but I don't think it's anything that's going to stop them being involved on Tuesday night."
The former 'Orns defender had some positive feedback for skipper DeMerit following his performance at Pride Park on Saturday.
"Jay took a whack on the other calf actually believe it or not" said Malky.
"I think taking into consideration him having travelled away and played in his international game during the week in Holland and then coming back, he put in another good performance for us on Saturday."
Finally, with three home games on the fixture sheet in the next week, the gaffer praised the hardy Watford fans for their support so far this season.
"They've been great all year, you look at the other against Newcastle, I know we went a goal down early on, but the crowd was fantastic once again.
"And I have to say that all season they've been really great.
"They've been turning out and I think they have been looking at the players as well and enjoying what the players are giving on the pitch for them.
"I think that actually makes a difference and if they see the players are putting in sweat, toil and effort while wearing the jersey, I think they then give it that little bit extra voice as well.
"It's when they don't think the players are working hard enough or trying for their team then any supporter would be vocal in their displeasure.
"So I am delighted with the noise our group has been given by our supporters considering it's a three sided stadium as well."
Tom Cleverley this evening serves the final match of his three-game ban following his recent sending off at Scunthorpe United.
