THE Golden Boys continue their League campaign this Saturday (28 August) against Leeds United.

Since the two sides met in the Play-Off final at the Millennium Stadium in 2006, both teams have gone in quite different directions, but assistant manager Dyche says it's most important to focus on the here and now.

"Let bygones be bygones" he said.

"The reality is we've got a feel for what they're about in regards to their current staff.

"It's another tough challenge as is every Championship game, but we feel we are well equipped to deal with and go beyond that challenge and win the football match on Saturday.

"The shifting sands of football mean clubs go high, low and then sit around the middle for various periods of time.

"We are hopefully coming out of an awkward spell for the club. I played in one here myself and I'm helping coach us through another one so that's an interesting pathway for myself - but it's been good.

"The players' work ethic is tremendous, the belief from the supporters has been excellent, aided by a good start from the team, and we're looking to build on that for Saturday."

Finally, the former defender had a message for the Vicarage Road faithful.

"The crowd have been first-class. They have been excellent throughout.

"Certainly throughout my time going through to the first team role that I'm in now they've been very supportive. I think they know the financial realities within the squad and the club.

"And they're willing to go with that. Although it's a good-sized club there is always that sort of small club thinking in the sense of family and people pulling together.

"The fans are an important part of pulling together now to help the Club.

"We can see light at the end of the tunnel. I'm sure the players can see it with the way they're performing at the moment. I think that gives fans belief, so long may it continue form their point of view."
