A BRAVE performance from Wealdstone last night (Tuesday) ensured they booked a place in the Quarter Finals of the FA Trophy by defeating Blue Square Bet South high-fyers Dartford 1-0 at The Vale.
Lee Chappell scored the winner on 27 minutes to earn the Stones an away tie with Conference side Cambridge United.
Former Watford Academy graduate Kurtney Brooks set Richard Jolly up to pass sweetly for Chappell who took the ball into the box and drove it left-footed across the face of goal and into the bottom corner of the net.
The night was full of drama as the Stones played out the remainder of the game with nine men after Chris O'Leary (62) and Watford loanee Connor Smith (70) saw red in front of one of the biggest home crowds of the season.
Dartford also finished the match with only 10 men on the pitch after James Rogers was sent off for a dangerous challenge on Peter Dean.
Watford's other loan player at The Vale, Tommie Hoban, was an unused substitute for the hosts.
