MALKY: CALL UPS ARE GREAT FOR THE CLUB

Posted on: Fri 27 Aug 2010

IN total five young Hornets have been called-up to represent their countries in forthcoming European Qualifiers, while another Golden Boy is currently on duty in an international tournament.

Boss Malky Mackay is pleased with the way youngsters are developing at Vicarage Road and feels the international experience will only benefit them in the long-term

The proud Watford gaffer said: "The fact that they are all going to be heading off to here, there and everywhere, it's great for the Club.

"It's good for the Academy too, it highlights why you would want to bring youngsters here to go through the system at Watford.

"If you come to us, there's a good chance of becoming an international footballer - long may that continue along with our relationship with The Harefield Academy.

"If we provide youngsters at international level then that can only benefit the Club in the longer run."
