COMMANDING centre-half Martin Taylor is really enjoying the start to his first full season at Watford and insists the Hornets have realistic sights of a top table finish this season.
The Golden Boys have one of the youngest squads but the experienced defender is sure Malky Mackay's men are more than capable of proving the critics wrong.
"Just look at what Blackpool did last season," said Taylor.
"No one would have thought they had a chance getting promoted. We have to aim for a top six finish and then anything can happen.
A top six finish is the aim for all the players, revealed the former Birmingham City player, but he knows it won't be a smooth ride.
"We have a young squad of players who, in my opinion, could play Premier League football. But we have to focus on the present. We want promotion but it will be a big ask for us."
The start of the season has been promising with the 'Orns unbeaten in all competitions and are playing confident and attacking football under Malky.

Taylor puts the good performances and confidence of his team-mates down to hunger.
"Promotion is a realistic goal, what we lack in experience we more than make up for in hunger."
Last weekends 2-2 draw with Coventry was a bitter pill to swallow, according to the defender.
"All the lads are very disappointed. We were in complete control one minute then level the next. It's hard to pick heads up, but we have to focus on the next couple of games.
The Golden Boys travel to Hull City on Saturday and they will be aiming to cause an upset at the KC Stadium where Hull will be looking to get their season up and running.
However Taylor believes Watford have a good chance as the lads at WD18 are well motivated.
"The morale in the camp is really good and we are hungry to win games. We are all looking forward to the Hull match.
"They are a very good team with a lot of experience, but we will definitely be looking to get all three points.
"If we keep playing the way we're playing we will do well."
