DATE CONFIRMED FOR CALLAGHAN GAME

A DATE and venue has been confirmed for the Nigel Callaghan benefit match.

Former Golden Boy Callaghan has been receiving treatment after being diagnosed with bowel cancer.

On Sunday 12 September at Pride Park former Watford players will take on former Derby players in the east Midlands.

The game will kick-off at 1.00pm.

Further details will be announced over the next few weeks, including ticket prices and information of who will be involved for the Hornets on the day.

Callaghan was a hugely popular figure at Vicarage Road during his playing days.

He played an integral part in the Club's success during the early 1980s.

Callaghan was a talented wide right player and he played his part in England winning the UEFA Under-21 tournament in 1984.

He made 215 league starts for the Golden Boys and netted 42 goals. Callaghan appeared six times in the UEFA Cup for Watford as well.

After leaving Vicarage Road he joined Derby County and also went on to appear for Aston Villa.
