WATFORD'S Golden Boys returned to the pitches this afternoon at London Colney after completing their pre-season tests.
The squad returned yesterday, however they didn't get out on the grass as the players spent the day with the Medical and Conditioning teams undergoing a range of tests.
An exclusive interview with Head of Medical Richard Collinge will feature soon here at www.watfordfc.com on that process.
This morning the squad undertook a number of sprint tests and then after lunch the group was out on the training pitches with boss Malky Mackay and his staff.
Speaking to www.watfordfc.com from London Colney, the manager was happy to get back in the swing of things.
He said: "It is great to be back. This summer I've been involved in planning meetings and that will carry on throughout the summer, but its great to be back with the players and to be back out on the training pitch."
The Scotsman overlooked proceedings as the players eased themselves back into the training routine.
"This afternoon the boys got the footballs out and started some gentle movements" added the gaffer.
"They all looked in good shape and they're desperate to be back and I'm sure their partners are equally pleased!

"They all look as if they're ready to come back to training."
The boss was quick to emphasise the importance of this time of year. A veteran of many a pre-season, Malky knows that the hard work undertaken now can pay dividends when points are up for grabs later in the campaign.
"Pre-season is the foundation and the bedrock of the season really, it is where that result or goal in the last 15 minutes of a game might come from and it can make a huge difference.
"It's not an easy time, but it certainly is a crucial time for them.
"This period covers everything and fully prepares the players.
"You've got to combine the fitness with the football work, then you bring in the tactical side of things, the more it interlinks then the more it becomes habit with them."

First-year professionals Piero Mingoia and Matthew Whichelow joined the first-team squad for their first pre-season as professionals, while Gavin Massey was also working with the squad after penning a pro deal in May.
The gaffer was keen for the older players to pass on their experience to the new crop.
He commented: "For the younger ones who have come out of youth team football, this is their first pre-season.
"The players who were in that position last year will keep them on their toes and pass on tips, they will explain how difficult it is and how disciplined you have to be."
A range of exclusive training shots will be available here at www.watfordfc.com next week.
