THE new season is now only six weeks away and so www.watfordfc.com are looking forward to some of the highlights for the coming 2010/11 npower Championship season.
Yesterday (Friday) we announced that the Hornets' opening game of the new season against Norwich City at Carrow Road will be live on Sky Sports. It therefore moves from a Saturday afternoon meeting to a Friday evening (7.45pm) kick off on August 6.
Aidy Boothroyd's Coventry City are the first visitors to Vicarage Road and the clash with the former Watford manager's side should be an interesting meeting considering the scoreline the last time the two teams met at the start of May.
Newly-promoted Leeds United are also among the teams to travel to Hertfordshire at the start of the 2010/11 campaign as they start life in the Championship after three seasons in the League One wilderness.

United have already starting buying and selling for the coming season and The Whites always bring a loud away following so Saturday 28 August is bound provide a great atmosphere and exciting game.
This season we are treated to three matches in the capital as Millwall gained the last promotion spot from League One.
The Hornets travel to the New Den (Saturday 18 September), Selhurst Park (Tuesday 9 November) and Loftus Road (Saturday 11 December) all before Christmas this season and the Golden Boys will be hoping for a great following on the road to these encounters.
New Year's Day is an obvious date for every Hornets' fans' diary. Not only is it a great family day out, but it's the first time in several seasons that Watford kick off a new year at The Vic. So what better opponents to host than ex-Premiership boys Portsmouth?

A short trip down the motorway to Reading FC and the impressive Madjeski Stadium always goes down well with Watford fans like last season, when the yellow army brought 6,000 fans to watch the Hornets take on the Royals. This year's campaign sees the Golden Boys meet the Berkshire outfit on Saturday 19 February.
Saturday 9 April sees Hull City return to the Vic after two years away from the Championship and with memories of the 2007/08 play-off semi-final still raw in many Watford supporters' minds, this game will provide the perfect opportunity for the 'Orns to set the record straight with the Tigers on home turf.

The home season concludes for the 'Orns with what is sure to be a great meeting with old rivals QPR at Vicarage Road on Saturday 30 April 2011.
