CLUB RELEASE PARKES

Posted on: Wed 23 Jun 2010

FOLLOWING the end of the 2009/10 season and discussions between the Club and player, Watford can now confirm that Jordan Parkes has left the club by mutual consent.

The Hemel-born player is a product of Watford's successful Academy, which has seen many players progress through the ranks at the Club. He turned professional in February 2007 and made his debut for the first team against Accrington Stanley in the Carling Cup in 2006.

Parkes also gained first-team experience with loan spells at Brentford, Barnet and Stevenage as well as winning International caps for England at U18 and U20 level.

He appeared for the reserve side nine times this season, scoring two goals.

However, the young defender has only played twice for the Watford first team over the last two seasons; struggling to break into the first team squad.

Watford manager Malky Mackay said this about the youngster: "Myself and the football staff give Jordan our best wishes for his future career".

Watford FC would like to thank Jordan for his contribution to the Club.
