ELTON JOHN CHARITY EVENT TAKING PLACE
A SPECIAL Lunch Around The World (LATW) event is to be held during the afternoon of the day that Sir Elton John plays Vicarage Road on Saturday 29th May.
Lunch Around The World is a long-running series of events that has been designed to raise money for Elton's AIDS Foundation
Elton's first public performance took place at the Northwood Hills Hotel (now the Namaste Lounge Restaurant) and during the day (on Saturday 29 May) PRS for Music will be unveiling a plaque to commemorate this. You'll be amongst the first people to see this historic "Heritage Award" after its unveiling.
Anyone attending the event will have the opportunity to take part in the charity auction and raffle.
There will be some items available for purchase. There are some truly amazing items for both Elton and Watford fans to get their hands on including a Watford match-day hospitality package complete with a meal in Elton's restaurant and match tickets, two Versace shirts and a silk scarf from Elton's recent Charity shop sale.
For Hornets fans there is a signed shirt from this seasons' squad, an 1984 FA Cup final programme signed by Graham Taylor and a signed goalkeepers' jersey from Scott Loach as well as various signed photos, CDs and books.
The raffle will also include some items donated by local high street businesses.
The Northwood Hills has a great bar, beer garden and restaurant serving Indian food.
There is also a great opportunity for Watford fans to join in the fun as a "thank you" to Elton for his wonderful gesture in supporting the club.
This event will be a great kick off to what we're sure will be a very special Elton concert! This event is being organised by the same team who ran previous LATW events at Watford and Charlton. All proceeds will go to the Elton John Aids Foundation.
Venue: The Northwood Hills (Namaste Lounge restaurant).
Date/Time: 29 May 2010 from 1pm onwards.
Transport: The venue is right opposite Northwood Hills Underground Station (Metropolitan Line).
If you are unable to come to this event and wish to make a donation to Elton John's Aids Foundation, however large or small, will be gratefully received.
The first five people to send a donation of £15 or more will receive a copy of the Elton John Live at Watford 2005 DVD, which contains 14 tracks from that concert and is not available to buy in the shops.
