COWIE: "LET'S RECTIFY THIS"
WATFORD'S number seven Don Cowie told www.watfordfc.com the most important thing for the Golden Boys to do following their 2-0 defeat against Derby today (Saturday), was to rectify the recent away results with a comeback on home turf.
"Everyone was extremely disappointed in the dressing room after the game" said Cowie.
"It is well documented about our away record and it's about time we put it straight.
"We went into the game confident we could do that today but unfortunately we didn't.
"But, we've got plenty of games coming up now to rectify it.
"The way things are in the league right now it's important that we take three points from every game, whether it's home or away, but ultimately we've been better at home over the last couple of months.
"That's where we've picked up the majority of our points so hopefully with the fans behind us we can get back to winning ways next week against Swansea and Peterborough."
Manager Malky Mackay had some rousing words for the Watford players at half time, Cowie revealed this provided the team with a much needed boost going out for the second half of the game at Pride Park.
"We all knew we hadn't performed to our standards in the first half and the manager let us know that at half time.
"We came out of the dressing room with a rocket from the manager.

"In all seriousness, we really wanted to get going, we took Derby on the back foot and I thought that if anyone was going to get the second goal it would be us."
Cowie continued: "Sometimes when you're pushing to get that equaliser though and you leave yourself a wee bit open at the back and that's what happened to us.
"It was disappointing but we've got to get on with it, we've got so many games coming up that we can't just put our heads down, we've got to look forward and try and kick on."
The Scottish international had positive words to say about his new young teammate Stephen McGinn, who came on to complete his second outing for the first team since joining in January.
"Stephen showed that he's very comfortable at this level, and it's only a matter of time until he's in the starting XI for us.
"Stephen's very competitive, gets in your face and doesn't give you much time but he's also very comfortable on the ball.
"I'm sure he'll be a very good player for Watford in the future."
