WATFORD'S reserve side put in a five-star performance as they beat Southend United 5-0 at Roots Hall this afternoon (Tuesday).
After scoring for the first-team on Saturday against Newcastle United at Vicarage Road, Will Hoskins followed that up by planting three goals past the Shrimpers.
His strike-partner for the afternoon, Liam Henderson, also bagged two goals to complete the scoreline.
Richard Lee once again started for the second string in goal, while Jure Travner and Ross Jenkins also played in defence and midfield respectively.
New signing Will Buckley made his first appearance in a Watford shirt after arriving at Vicarage Road in January.
Henderson opened the scoring after just three minutes with a low shot past 'keeper Kelvin Jack and that set the Hornets up for the rest of the game.
The Geordie striker was in convincing form as he nearly doubled the lead before doing so on 19 minutes as he lashed an effort in from 20 yards out.
Hoskins added the third on 25 minutes and then on 29 minutes he drilled a shot past the overworked Southend goalkeeper.
The score was 4-0 at half time and the Golden Boys added a fifth on 56 minutes as Hoskins completed his hat-trick.
It was a comfortable result for the 'Orns and Henderson could have even completed his own hat-trick late on but he headed over at the far post.
