BRISTOL City head to Vicarage Road tonight looking for their first win in four games.

Gary Johnson's side were trounced 6-0 by Cardiff two weeks ago, and will be keen to erase the memory of that defeat with a win in WD18.

They have won twice in their last 15 league games and will be looking for vast improvements, before a weekend trip to Bramall Lane to face play-off hopefuls, Sheffield United.

TEAM NEWS:

Bristol City's Nicky Maynard (dead leg) and Jamal Campbell-Ryce will both miss the game but Cole Skuse is back after a stomach problem.

HEAD TO HEAD:

City hold the upper hand in the League, having beaten the Hornets in 32 of the 79 meetings between the teams. Watford have won 21 times, and the sides have shared 26 draws.

The Robins have also enjoyed successful trips to Vicarage Road in recent years, their last defeat coming on Boxing Day 1998, as Alan Smart scored the only goal of the game for Graham Taylor's Watford side, who later went on the secure promotion to the Premier League.

When the two clubs shared a 1-1 draw at Ashton Gate in the 1997-1998 campaign, the Hornets were famously promoted back to Division One, alongside their West Country hosts.

LAST TIME THE TEAMS MET:

Recent fixtures between the two sides have certainly not been short of drama.

When the sides met at Ashton Gate earlier this season, John Eustace was the hero, scoring a 90 minute equaliser in a thrilling 2-2 draw.

Danny Haynes put City ahead, before Tom Cleverley levelled for Malky Mackay's men.

A stunning free-kick by Paul Hartley appeared to have given the home side all three points, but Eustace's dramatic late leveller sent the Yellow Army back home with a share of the spoils.

City enjoyed some festive cheer in this fixture last season, beating Brendan Rodgers' Hornets 4-2 on Boxing Day 2008.

Johnson's men raced in to a first minute lead, and then doubled their advantage before half time, with Maynard bagging a brace.

Grzegorz Rasiak replied for the Golden Boys, but Marvin Elliott restored the visitor's two-goal cushion soon after.

Elliott then put through his own net to give the Vicarage Road faithful some hope, but Dele Adebola scored the killer fourth goal, to leave the Hornets empty handed.
