ACADEMY graduate Rob Kiernan has today (Monday), subject to international clearance, joined Scottish Premier League side Kilmarnock on loan until the end of the season.

The defender spent last week training with Jimmy Calderwood's side and he has earned himself a loan move which gives him an opportunity to experience regular first-team football.

Kiernan has been with the Hornets since the age of nine and is a true graduate of the club's Academy.

The 19-year-old is now a central defender after previously being utilised in the centre of midfield.

Kiernan made his first-team debut for the Golden Boys against Crystal Palace in the FA Cup fourth round in January 2009.

His promising performances for the Hornets meant a call-up from Republic Of Ireland's Under-19 squad and he has since gone on to captain that age group.
