AHEAD of tickets going on sale next week for his homecoming concert at Vicarage Road, Sir Elton John has spoken about how he is looking forward to returning to Hertfordshire.

The singer and the Golden Boys last month announced plans for a concert at Vicarage Road on Saturday 29 May, 2010.

Elton John, his band and special guests will grace The Vic once more after the singer last appeared there in 2005.

Speaking shortly after the concert was announced, the lifelong Watford supporter said: "Watford Football Club has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember.

"The Club has given me great happiness, moral support - and often helped to keep my feet on the ground!"

Tickets for Elton John's Vicarage Road concert go on sale this Monday (9 November) via www.watfordfc.com - full details and selling arrangements can be found by clicking here.

Elton John added: "To have been Chairman of Watford when we went to Wembley for the Cup Final - that really is the stuff of dreams.

"And even though I am less involved on a day-to-day basis now, Watford stays in my heart, and wherever I am in the world I never miss a match.

"The two concerts I played on the pitch in 1974 and 2005 were magic - and I can't wait to relive that magic next May!"
