WATFORD kicked off their opening game of the Totesport Combination East Division with a draw at Wycombe Wanderers.
It was a short trip to Marlow FC for the young but talented Watford squad, which included the experienced Mat Sadler, along with Marvin Sordell and Jordan Parkes.
Youngsters Cole Penny, Matty Whichelow and Piero Mingoia were also included on the bench for the clash against The Chairboys.
The home side took an early lead with Ashley Chambers making a run down the left wing, crossing to Stuart Beavon to net home Wycombe's opener.
Jonathan North made a brave stop for the Hornets on the half way mark to deny Ashley Chambers a goal and keep Watford in the game.
On 32 minutes, Marvin Sordell had the Golden Boys' best chance of the first half.
Lewis Young chipped the ball through to his fellow striker and Sordell should have blasted the ball home for the Hornets but his shot was wide.
The boys came out from the dressing room at half time with a renewed determination and hunger which drove the momentum for the equaliser on 62 minutes.
Liam Henderson headed home Jordan Parkes' whipped cross and the Hornets were back on track.
North's earlier save proved to be a crucial turning point for the game, and the Hornets could have stolen all three points.
Four minutes later, Billy Gibson was only stopped from putting the visitors in the lead by a diving save from Wycombe 'keeper Jamie Young, as his dipping set piece headed towards goal, but the score remained level.
