COWIE IN CONTENTION

Posted on: Wed 26 Aug 2009

WATFORD midfielder Don Cowie is being considered for a return to action on Saturday (22 August) as the Hornets host Ian Holloway's Blackpool at Vicarage Road.

The Scottish midfielder has missed the last two games after coming off during Watford's victory over Barnet in the first round of the Carling Cup on Tuesday 11 August.

A hamstring injury prevented the former Inverness man from taking his place in the team for the last two league outings away from home, but the 26-year-old is expected to take his place in Malky Mackay's matchday squad.

Striker Nathan Ellington has been struggling with a knee injury and a decision on his fitness will be made closer to kick off.

Aside from the above duo, everyone else if fighting fit in Mackay's squad.
