FORMER Watford and England boss Graham Taylor has become a Patron of Watford FC's Community Sports & Education Trust.

Taylor is a passionate believer about Watford's vital role in the local community and he spearheaded the Club's community ethos back in the 1970s and 1980s, during his first spell as manager of the Hornets.

After joining the Club's board as a Non-Executive Director in January 2009, Taylor re-established his links with the Club's community work by recently becoming a Patron.

Taylor is in his third period with the club, during his first two spells with the Hornets he led the Club to the top-flight of English football.

"I am delighted and honoured to be a Patron for Watford's Community Sports and Education Trust." Taylor commented.

"The work currently being delivered in the community is vital and we must retain the 'Family Club' image that we gained many years ago when we became the first professional football club to have a reserved seated family enclosure.

"That was followed some years later by a standing family enclosure.

"The current projects and sessions delivered by the Community team are fantastic and hopefully the Trust can continue to build upon their recent awards and success."

Chairman of the Community Trust, Chris Norton was delighted with Taylor's appointment.
