WITH five goals already under his belt, Watford newcomer Danny Graham is already making his mark in Hertfordshire.

And, with one of those goals coming on Saturday against Parma in front of his first Vicarage Road audience, the striker is bound to become a crowd favourite in no time.

"It was nice to score in my first game" said the striker.

"But to be honest the most important thing to come out of the match was our fitness as a team.

"Parma are a strong side, obviously we knew it was going to be tough and all the way through from one - eleven, including the subs, everyone did a very good shift.

"It's good to get the win and get everyone's confidence up going into next week."

Graham has totalled an impressive five goals in the pre-season campaign

Having just been promoted to Serie A, Parma provided some tough opposition for the Hornets and Malky Mackay's preparations for his squad paid off as training ground tactics were transferred to the pitch on Saturday.

"We knew Parma would be tricky opponents" revealed Graham "it took us 10 or 15 minutes to figure out how they play.

"We had had no reports on them before hand so that's why it took us a bit of time to get settled into the game.

"But once we imposed our tactics on them, I think we were the better team and we deserved the win."

The ex-Middlesbrough striker was very complimentary of his new teammates when www.watfordfc.com caught up with him after the victory over Parma.

"Playing as a team felt really good, there's a lot of good connections all over the park; me and Tamas, Scott and Ross, the two centre halves. The list goes on.

"Everyone played really well and that's really pleasing."

And now, the former Carlisle man can't wait to get stuck into Championship football with the Hornets.

"All throughout our pre-season preparations, we've looked really sharp and everyone's played really well.

"There's a lots of positive results and we haven't been beaten in any of our games so far, which is great.

"If we have a strong week next week, train hard, study our reports on Doncaster and see how they like to play, then we can use that to our advantage and have a good start to our season on Saturday."
