BANGURA LEAVES THE VIC

Posted on: Mon 27 Jul 2009

WATFORD can today (Thursday) confirm that Al Bangura has left Vicarage Road by mutual consent after completing the relevant paperwork this afternoon.

The midfielder from Sierra Leone made 83 appearances for the club between April 2005 and October 2008, including 41 times when the Hornets won promotion in 2005/06.

His contract had been due to expire in June 2010.

The 21-year-old spent the final part of last season on loan at Brighton & Hove Albion and made six appearances for the League One outfit.

Bangura made national headlines in late 2007 and early 2008 when he won his right to remain in the United Kingdom after a Government work permit hearing found in his favour.

The club would like to wish Al all the very best in his future career.
