WATFORD'S younger professionals and Academy players started their pre-season fixtures today (Saturday) and overcame local side Tring Athletic 6-0.
The development squad was taken by new First Team Coach David Kerslake and Academy Manager U17-U19 Mark Warburton.
Watford were three goals to the good by the interval as striker Liam Henderson grabbed two goals and second year scholar Matty Whichelow scored the other.
After the break, an own goal, a Gavin Massey strike and a Piero Mingoia goal completed the victory.
Massey is a first-year centre forward with the Academy, while Mingoia is a versatile midfielder.
