NATHAN Ellington joined up with the rest of the Watford squad today (Wednesday) as the first-team returned for pre-season training at London Colney.

The striker spent last season at Pride Park with Derby County, however the Coca-Cola Championship club did not take up their option to permanently secure the services of the former West Brom man at the end of his loan period.

Ellington has met with new Watford boss Malky Mackay this morning to discuss his future and he will take part in pre-season training with the Golden Boys.

The club is looking for him to progress with his career and return to regular football.

Club officials have met with his agent and are working on finding the striker new opportunities in the foreseeable future.

Mackay said: "Nathan joined up with the rest of the squad this morning and we'll be getting him fit and ready for the start of the new season."
