WATFORD can today (Tuesday) announce the signing of midfielder Scott Severin on a free transfer.
The Scottish international is a free agent this summer as his contract expires with Scottish Premier League outfit Aberdeen.
However, the Hornets have moved quickly to secure the services of the midfielder on a two-year contract.
Severin's contract with Aberdeen expires on 30 June and he will sign for the Golden Boys on 1 July - the day the players return for pre-season training at London Colney.
The Dons finished fourth in the Scottish Premier league last season and the Hornets have managed to attract the versatile player south.
The 30-year-old was captain at Pittodrie but leaves to take up a fresh challenge with the Golden Boys in the Championship.
Stirling-born Severin joined Aberdeen in 2004 after leaving Hearts.

To date he has 14 caps for Scotland and he made 40 appearances for The Dons last campaign, scoring one goal.
Watford boss Malky Mackay said: "I have kept an eye on Scottish football and Scott's progress.
"He's had five terrific years at Aberdeen and is very well respected. Scott was Aberdeen's captain and that speaks volumes for his character and leadership qualities."
