LOACH PLAYS HIS PART
WATFORD goalkeeper Scott Loach had his mind firmly focused on football last night (Monday) as he started for England in the UEFA European Under-21s Championship.
The 21-year-old 'keeper earned his fourth cap and his first start for the national team since first being called up to the U21 squad by boss Stuart Pearce.
He played the first half as the youngsters drew 1-1 with Germany in the final group game in Halmstad.
England finished top of Group B on seven points and they now await their opponents for the semi final which takes place in Gothenburg on Friday (26 June) evening.
In other international news, Watford skipper Jay DeMerit has been busy for the United States.
They are through to the last four of the Confederations Cup in South Africa, where they will face Spain.
The Americans bounced back after losing their first two group games and beat Egypt 3-1, with Brazil also beating Italy 3-0, USA progressed to the last four and will play on Wednesday.
Watford's centre half has played in all of America's fixtures so far in the Confederations Cup.
