WATFORD will warm up for the start of the Coca-Cola Championship season with a home friendly clash with Parma.

The fixture will take place at 3.00pm on Saturday 1 August at Vicarage Road.

The Italian outfit will compete in Serie A next season after gaining promotion to the top league.

Parma sprung to fame during the 1990s when they established themselves as a top-flight team with the likes of Faustino Asprilla, Hernan Crespo, Lilian Thuram and Juan Sebastian Veron on their books.

The club has returned to Seria A at the first time of asking after suffering relegation in 2007/08.
