GRAHAM Taylor's former backroom staff attended the 25th anniversary celebrations on the 19th May and each of them had a memory of Wembley to share with the crowd.

"The big thing was that all the players and backroom staff were close and we still are" said John Ward, "and now we've grown old together!

"We were very much together in sharing the same desires and wanting Watford Football Club to achieve great things and that it what this event was about celebrating.

"I certainly grew to love Watford and this football club has stayed part of me for a long time."

Steve Harrison signed as a player under GT's reign and quickly moved into the coaching team. Harrison commented on the buzz around WD18 during the era of the Final.

"It was a great time at Watford, there was something special about the club then."

Tom Walley, another well-known name and face in Watford's history agreed with his former colleague.

"The boys did superbly well and I was so proud to see the younger players like Neil Price come through the ranks and go on to play in the Final.

"That is what you look for in the game, getting the young lads through to the first team, playing in big games and getting a good career out of it as a consequence."

With Watford's academy still going strong now and producing many talented players, this tradition is set to continue well into the future.
