ODDS FOR NORTH ENGLAND DERBY AT WEMBLEY

Posted on: Wed 13 May 2009

BURNLEY booked the second place in the Championship play-off final after a convincing 2-0 win over Reading.

Fantastic goals from Martin Paterson and Steven Thompson ensured that the Clarets took the 3-0 aggregate win to take them to Wembley to face Sheffield United.

Who will take the spoils from Wembley on 25th May?

The previous night (Monday 11th May), a goal from Sheffield United's Greg Halford gave the Blades' their chance to get a step closer to the Premier League.

Watford's John-Joe O'Toole misses the final on the hallowed turf through an ankle injury but ex-Hornets Leigh Bromby and Darius Henderson hope to feature in the match on Monday 25th May.

There is little to seperate the two teams as they prepare to go head to head in North London for the honour of playing in the top tier of football next season.

Odds for Sheffield United to win outright are 8/5 and 10/1 for a 2-0 victory.

Burnley are 9/5 to take all three points and 11/1 for a 2-0 win.

If you think the clash is just too close to call, odds for the score to be even after 90 minutes is 7/1 for a 0-0 draw, 5/1 for a 1-1 draw and 12/1 for a 2-2.
