WATFORD defender Adrian Mariappa has today (Friday) signed a new contract that will keep him at WD18 for another two years.

The Hornet has worked his way through the ranks to become a regular fixture in Brendan Rodgers' first team, scoring once this season against Wolves at Molineux.

Mariappa, former captain of Watford's under 18s side said, "To carry on and have a career and future at the club I started with and love is a great feeling."

Mariappa joins Richard Lee, Scott Loach, Ross Jenkins and Lloyd Doyley as players who have signed new contracts with the club under Brendan Rodgers.
