SETBACK FOR WILLIAMS

Posted on: Thu 29 Jan 2009

WATFORD midfielder Gareth Williams has suffered a setback in his on-going rehabilitation from a serious knee injury.

According to boss Brendan Rodgers the Scottish playmaker has broken down again after a swelling occurred in his knee.

The former Nottingham Forest player has turned out for the second string this season but has once again had his progress hampered.

Williams suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury, which robbed the central midfielder and Watford of his services during the final few weeks of the Hornets' Premiership adventure in 2006/07.

Williams arrived on deadline day at Vicarage Road in the January 2007 transfer window for an undisclosed fee from Leicester City.
