JON HAS TO KEEP MOTORING

Posted on: Mon 19 Jan 2009

DESPITE a home defeat to Sheffield United at the weekend, left sided player Jon Harley says the Hornets must keep on going and do everything they can to turn things around at Vicarage Road.

With the Golden Boys now close to the dreaded drop zone, Harley was more disappointed than most to lose out against one of his former employers.

Going forward he added that they can't let results get them down and insists they must take some positives out of the two-nil reversal to the Yorkshire outfit.

He said: "We felt that we played okay, but yet again it's a similar story. We've given away two goals and we've not got the result that we wanted."

After a goalless first half, where the 'Orns could have been two-nil up had it not been for some heroic defending, they were damaged by two ex-Watford boys.

They found the back of the net for the Blades in the second half as forwards Danny Webber and Darius Henderson got the better of the home defence.

"No one goes through a game without making mistakes" added Harley, "but we've go to try and cut out the mistakes which are leading to goals."

"It's just about trying to be positive about it and we know that there is light at the end of the tunnel."

Speaking on the forthcoming FA Cup game with Crystal Palace in WD18 this Saturday, the defender commented: "Obviously the Cup's a big thing for us and if we can have a decent run, it will help the club out financially, it's always nice to have a target where we could possibly be at Wembley at the end."
