WATFORD Football Club can confirm it has submitted initial plans to Watford Borough Council regarding the future use of the former Red Lion Public House.

Since taking over the freehold of the premises, and abiding by the lease that was in place for the previous tenants, the Club has since conducted a thorough assessment of the property and its potential future use.

As a landmark building, closely associated to the Club, the decision was taken that to protect its status the Club would invest in the property and look to maintain its use moving forward.

With this in mind Watford have prepared an initial planning application to review the use of the property and offer potential alternative options for the Club and its supporters which, at this time, includes potential office space and potential use of the building as a new club shop outlet.
