KEEP ON RUNNING...
ON Sunday 12 October, Rookery season ticket holders Sue and Dave Rodway ran the Royal Parks Foundation half marathon in London.
They undertook the challenge to raise funds for the charity RIGHT TO PLAY.
They were inspired to raise money for this charity as it is focused on improving the lives of children, specifically through locally delivered sport and play programmes.
"Sport has given us many good times - we'd love it to be accessible to children who have suffered through war, poverty or other negative experiences - it can improve not only their health but also their life skills and confidence," said Sue.
For Sue this was her first ever half marathon, and after completing the distance in two hours, 15 minutes she was delighted with her time and the satisfaction of knowing all the hard work in training, and then on the day, was helping raise funds for such a worthwhile cause. Combined with Dave's time they covered the marathon distance in four hours and five minutes!
As part of their fundraising, Sue, Dave and their son Josh will be in The Rous stand this Saturday (25 October), both before the match and at half-time, selling Adidas mini-footballs, for a minimum donation of £5 - so if you'd like to support their fund-raising efforts it will be greatly appreciated.
