AFTER the success of the original trip back in August 2007, Watford FC's Centre of Excellence for girls are hoping to give this year's talented U16s squad a fantastic opportunity to fly the flag for Watford and girls' football with a trip to the United States of America.

Back in 2007 Watford began building links with Hofstra and St John's Universities on the East Coast of America.

The link offered female players from Watford a life-changing opportunity to earn a scholarship to learn, live and potentially have a career most could only dream of, plus with Watford producing players of international standard it allows us, in time, to accommodate some of the best players the States can offer on a player exchange programme.

The pilot trip back in 2007 was a major success with four of our Watford players indentified as contenders for places at two of New York's successful 'Big East Conference Leagues' universities and due to that success we plan to take this year's crop of talented players out to Long Island next summer

With the programme still in its infancy we are once again appealing to local businesses or individuals to sponsor a member(s) of our U16s playing squad (£125 per player) to primarily help alleviate the personal cost of this trip to the families of the girls, and insure that they can all attend this once in a lifetime trip.

Potential sponsors will be recognised for their generous donation with the following acknowledgements;

- Company/individuals name and or logo will appear under the player's picture profile for the whole of the 2008/09 season under the Girls Centre of Excellence section of the Watford FC official website - www.watfordfc.com

- Company/individuals name to appear in an article which will feature in a Watford FC's first team programme (each sponsor will be sent a hard copy of the programme in which the article appears)

- Company/individuals name (unfortunately no logos) will appear on the Vicarage Road big screen before a men's first team game

- Company/individuals name will appear on Watford FC's Official website in an article to thank sponsors for their generous donations. A link for the article will be emailed to each individual sponsor
