RASIAK READY FOR ACTION
IT'S time to polish up on your Polish if you're a Watford fan this afternoon, following the news that hot-shot Grzegorz Rasiak has joined the Hornets on a season-long loan from Southampton.
The former Derby County and Tottenham Hotspur man joined up with his team-mates prior to this afternoon's announcement of his arrival at WD18, and immediately stated his intent for the season.
"My target is always to help the team win as many games as possible, if we are doing that then I'm sure my goals will be coming too.
"I will give 100% for the club and try to help the team as much as I can," added the 6'3" striker.
"I want to show that I can help the team win games. I believe it will be a good year for me and for the club."
Rasiak turned down a host of other sides before making the move to Vicarage Road in a bid to re-establish himself as one of the Championship's deadliest finishers.
"There were a few other offers, mainly from other Championship sides and abroad.
"I spent some good times at Southampton but now I am looking forward to doing something more at Watford and I believe the club can get to the Premier League.
"I am very much looking forward to being here at Watford and I am happy to have signed."

Rasiak is a seasoned Polish international but missed out narrowly on a place in the Euro 2008 squad this summer, something he hopes he can rectify by playing regular football once more.
"I wasn't in the Poland squad because when I was at Bolton I didn't play week-in week-out," said the 29-year old.
"I have played 37 times for my country though and I know that if I am focussed on my new team here at Watford, by playing I will have a chance to get back into the national squad."
Rasiak joined the growing band of foreign players on these shores in 2004, but explained a little more about his background prior to becoming a Pole abroad.
"I started to play professional football at the age of 17 for a second division team called Warta Poznan, then I moved into the first division with to GKS Belchetow and Odre Wodzislow.
"Then I moved to Groclin and it is from there I moved to Derby County and England."
Once in England he met a man who'll he'll soon be re-familiarised with, in the shape of our very own Tommy Smith.
"I was at Derby with Tommy Smith and we had a very good year together there," said the Poznan born striker.
"In 10 months we scored lots of goals together and I know from then that Tommy can create chances from the left or the right side, as well as play down the middle."
Hornets fans can now look forward to the two being re-acquainted at Vicarage Road sooner rather than later, although Rasiak wasn't giving much away about his role in tomorrow's Charlton game, simply saying: "All I can tell you is that I am in the squad!"
