MILK CUP 2O08 DAY TWO
DAY two of the Milk Cup 2008 brought mixed results again for the two squads representing Watford at Northern Ireland's prestigious youth tournament.

The junior side kicked off at midday against Co. Fermanagh at Riada Stadium, Ballymoney - needing a victory after the opening day brought a 3-2 defeat at the hands of Rosenborg of Norway.
Once again it was a frustrating afternoon for Assistant Academy Manager for 12-16s, Nick Cox, and his young troops as they drew 0-0.
The Hornets largely dominated proceedings during the clash but they were unable to break down a stubborn, disciplined side in Co. Fermanagh.
Cox said: "It was a similar story to yesterday for us - we were superior tactically and technically but we couldn't break Co. Fermanagh down.
"We should have scored early on but they got 11 men behind the ball and fair play to them for getting a result.

"We're disappointed and so are the boys. These games are about winning and going through to the next round and we need to find our ruthless streak in front of goal."
At the time of writing the Golden Boys are awaiting other results as to which trophy the will play for and which team they will face tomorrow (Wednesday).
Meanwhile Mark Warburton's senior squad was competing today in the Premier section.
After their opening day victory they had less pressure on them but still had to overcome Co. Antrim at Parker Avenue, Portrush, to ensure they qualify for the top trophy.
First half goals from second year scholar Rob Kiernan and new scholar Piero Mingoia meant an encouraging start for the youngsters as they ran out 2-0 victors in the 70 minute game.

Watford's Academy manager Mark Warburton was pleased to see his side progress as they did. He said: "It was important to get the second win tonight as it's so tight you need two wins to qualify for the top competition.
"We started superbly and created lots of chances and dominated the game and could have, and should have, scored more.
"Rob Kiernan is naturally a midfielder but was playing at centre half in a physical game and he did very well, he captained the side and he'll be fighting for his pro contract this year.
"We now await the draw for the next round - there are some very talented teams here so it will be a real test whoever we face."
The demanding nature of the tournament means that all of the touring party will play a part at some point and Warburton for one can't think of a better preparation for the season.

He added: "The tournament is organised superbly and with five games in five days it's a real test, overall the Milk Cup is tremendous and I can't think of a better way to get ready to start the new season."
The squads will now return to their hotel tonight and after dinner will have a de-brief about the games as well as looking ahead to their next test, once their opposition is known.
